We used to make fun of how Norwegians say thanks for everything. Seriously. Takk for maten (thanks for the food), takk for I går (thanks for yerterday), takk for nå (thanks for now), takk for gaven (thanks for the gift). You get the idea.
Now that I’m half world from you -again-, looking back at the time we spent together in all the places we visited or lived in; now I get it. I understand that compulsive Norwegian gratitude, because I, myself, am thankful. I am happy for those intense months I lived by your side, as I’m thankful too for the positive turn you brought into my life.
Takk for deg, takk for oss. Thanks for you, thanks for Us.
